Evolon® technology can be used in a wide variety of automotive acoustic applications. These range from interior cladding for dashboards and use in engine compartments to molded carpets, throw-in mats and acoustic pads.

Evolon® microfilament fabrics have very good sound absorption properties.

The tightly entangled multi-directional microfilaments create millions of “micro” air channels, which enables the optimum air permeability required to absorb sound energy.

Strong, non-directional, isotropic

Evolon® microfilament fabrics are very strong and isotropic, meaning properties are similar in any direction. Good mechanical characteristics result in a fabric that will not lose its shape or uniformity, even after heavy use and multiple wash cycles.

Thanks to the unique structure of their endless microfilaments, Evolon® fabrics are ideal for durable and demanding applications. Unlike staple fibers, endless microfilaments ensure strength and dimensional stability.

Environmentally friendly

Evolon® microfilament textiles are long-lasting materials that help to reduce the impact of waste on our environment.

No binders, solvents or PVC are used in the manufacture of Evolon®.

Standard finishing and converting

Evolon® microfilament fabrics can be processed using traditional textile manufacturing techniques. They can be dyed, printed, finished, cut and sewn, just like any other fabrics.

With non-fraying edges, Evolon® microfilament fabrics provide the advantage of easier processing, making overstitching unnecessary.
